I had a blog like this a few years ago, but it clearly didn’t work out. So let’s try this again:
This is not something normal; this is something different.
This isn’t the stuff you scroll past on Instagram, this isn’t the stuff recommended by YouTube—hell, this probably isn’t even the first search result from Google if you search the name up.
This is a place for thought.
This is a domain meant to make you think; a place to make you disagree, reflect, and even learn. I’m not trying to make this sound like it’s a noble duty I need to accomplish, or that it’s for the better of society, ‘cause it really isn’t. It’s just some guy, taking time to write some random stuff, and being very determined to post it for others to read.
Rather, it’s ‘cause I want this to be unique.
The Internet these days is very, very saturated. Search one thing up and you’ll get 1000 short-form videos, 2000 ads, and 10,000 results that are purely meant to distract you. And watching just one of those 1000 videos can take you down a rabbit hole where you end up lightyears away from what you came for. Long story short, it grabs your attention and hijacks it until there’s barely any; short story long, you’re becoming an addict.
That’s why I made (technically remade) this website, for I want it to be a repose from the spoonfed bullshit you see online, respectfully. I want this to be a place where you read (yes, read) something that hits you differently, something that feels off from the normal flow of social media. I want this to be a place where you can hopefully gain insight or knowledge on topics you didn’t know about before. I want this to be a place where something makes you feel so emotional that you leave a response about your feelings.
The stuff you see dated before this is from the original site, and I’ll probably throw it into some folder and call it “Archives” or something. A good chunk of that will be very cheesy and overblown, but you must “Study the past if you [want to] define the future,” as Confucius said. But enough of this prelude, let’s get to the point.
Welcome back to Skyless Clouds.
